«Atamura» is a pottery workshop aimed at fostering creativity. This workshop not only promotes traditional Kazakh craftsmanship but also teaches participants to create unique handmade items.
Goals and Opportunities of the Workshop
The main goal of the workshop is to revive national crafts, develop young people’s creative abilities, and teach the art of pottery making. Visitors can learn all stages of pottery creation:
- Preparing and processing clay;
- Shaping various figures and sculptures;
- Decorating pottery with patterns and ornaments;
- Firing in a kiln to produce the final product.
Workshop Schedule
The «Atamura» workshop operates three times a week free of charge. Annually, it welcomes around 3,500 visitors and over 500 regular participants. Under the guidance of skilled artisans, participants familiarize themselves with traditional pottery-making techniques. Additionally, the workshop organizes various themed events, exhibitions, and competitions.
Opportunities for Participants. People of all ages are welcome to join the workshop. It is an excellent opportunity, especially for teenagers and young people interested in national arts. Participants can take their handmade pottery home or showcase them at special exhibitions.
