Writer and playwright, author of the epic novel The Path of Abai. A scholar of folklore and Kazakh classics.
Mukhtar Auezov was a writer, playwright and philologist, an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. He began with the play Enlik-Kebek and wrote prose, drama and folklore studies. The epic novel The Path of Abai brought him world fame.
